Does the idea of turning up to a wedding “fayre” and being endlessly bombarded on all elements of your wedding planning, by a ‘dog with a bone salesperson’, send shivers down your spine? Does the idea of walking around a bland venue visiting one trestle table after another lined with brochures and Ipads fill you with dread?
I’ve had this feeling for a long time and have been delighted to see many new style bridal events pop up in recent years. Most notably some impressive independent shows such as Brides the Show, A Most Curious Wedding Fair, and the super luxe Quintessentially Atelier.
However, venue-based and funded open days or bridal events have often been heavily neglected. So it was an utter privilege to be let loose last year (so to speak) by the very forward-thinking venue team at Waddesdon Manor. The team set themselves a goal of redesigning their wedding open day into a much anticipated bi-annual show which showcases creativity and innovation and is the go-to wedding show in Buckinghamshire and beyond.
Enter Wedding Inspiration …
The newly designed event ran for the first time in October 2015 and was a huge success! So much so that it expanded quickly with the addition of many new show features when it returned this March. It is a pleasure to work on the designing and planning to bring to life this show each autumn and spring. I’m delighted today to be showing you some of the images of what unfolded on this bright, fun-filled spring day.
Over 1000 visitors packed the aisles over the 5 hour period, soaking up the fashion catwalk, cocktail workshops, rolling ‘meet the chef’ and canapé building sessions and more. Carefully curated demos on hair styling, photography tips, and interactive wine tasting, meant there was something going on constantly for the many bridal parties who came “en masse” to make a day of it.
The brief for each partner in the event was to inspire – pop up banners were out and wedding professionals encouraged to bring to life their creations in all manner of ways rather than showing what they can do only on the little screen.
We’re all delighted that the show is set to return again in the autumn with yet more inspiration for your wedding so do mark Sunday 30th October 2016 in your planning diaries now!
