New Look Bespoke

UKAWP

Firstly yes, it's still me and us, The Bespoke Wedding Company, but with a new look.

This year, like those that have gone before, has been a busy one here at Bespoke Towers! We are very firmly settled in our Surrey-based office and whilst there are only 2 trains an hour into the big smoke, it doesn’t seem like much of a hardship when we step off the train and into our green idyll. It's still on my list to nurture more local contacts for The Bespoke Wedding Company but all in good time, there are never enough hours ...

Helen Naisby continues to assist me part-time in the office and has worked on-site on two recent weddings this summer which has been wonderful.

More on our weddings later but we've been spoiled with wonderful clients brimming with unique ideas for their special days; it’s been our privilege to work with them during 2011.

As we approach the end of 2011, it's all change again and there is a huge new project for me personally for 2012 - baby Bespoke is due to arrive in early January and myself and Mr C are thrilled at this new addition to our family and slightly scary challenge ahead!

With that in mind, Bespoke will be a lot quieter during the early part of 2012 as I hopefully take some time to be mummy.

Recent Weddings

This year we've worked on a great array of weddings all completely personal and "just right" for the couples taking their vows.

Here is a snapshot of just a few:

Recent Weddings

Early July saw the wedding of an infectiously fun American/Persian couple based in Kuwait who decided to marry in the UK. Not in London though; the bride had her heart set from a very early age on a classic (but with a twist) English country wedding and so to work we went. It had to be Oxfordshire and had to be a beautiful ivy-clad mansion house and well we just had to have a marquee. Of course it wouldn't have been an English wedding without rain which did mean that the outdoor ceremony moved inside to the stunning Baronial Hall. But it didn't matter a jot as guests were able to enjoy some time outside enjoying drinks before heading into the most eye-poppingly colourful marquee design. Orange and lime green is not a colour palette that we immediately threw together but it worked beautifully from the pom pom lanterns to the matchbox favours and the bright sunny gerbera floral designs, to the carefully styled placement card table, not mentioning the tongue-in-cheek reference to Aladdin's magic carpet in the design of the wedding cake.

And later in July, we pulled off our largest wedding to date; the guest list was in excess of 500 and when you bring them all to a private home which has never hosted a wedding before, well the word is careful planning and logistics. Our favourite. We set to work on the design of a beautiful floor to ceiling glass panelled marquee complete with viewing balcony for the firework show that featured in the day. Guests were treated to fabulous views as the humanist ceremony which combined elements of British and Indian tradition (to reflect the heritage of the bride and groom) took place outside overlooking the South Downs; the marquee itself was styled in pale metallics, creams, peaches and lilacs, a perfect combination of elegance and English country garden. There was entertainment aplenty including music from the gorgeous ladies of Asteria Strings and photos from Boothnation as guests gathered in the nightclub zone complete with an enormous uplit bar. This was not an early night for anyone ...

Recent Weddings

More recently we've worked on a fabulous Italian Renaissance themed beauty at London's landmark Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Photos are not available yet but you can see some of the fun the bride and groom had before the wedding at their Roman Holiday inspired photo shoot directed by Pippa Mackenzie Photography.

New Look Bespoke

As mentioned above, we are thrilled to unveil our whole new look here which we hope you like. Gone is our bold (and some said brash) purple heart and in with an ever so slightly more delicate palate. Our service is still the same, elegant weddings, expertly planned but we hope that the new logo and website reflect where we are and what we do a bit more accurately these days.

If you haven’t taken a peek already, our film seems to be rather popular and describes what we do and how we do it.

UK Alliance of Wedding Planners

My business partners at UKAWP and I have been busy as ever this year as our membership has expanded hugely - now with over 60 wedding planners in our midst, we are fast becoming the UK's leading body for the wedding planning industry. We've managed a lot of events including our first ever bridal event, The Wedding Sanctuary in March, our annual learning seminar (WPE), presence at the trade show RSVP, Mix and Mingle last month, various workshops, not to mention our original training courses for new entrants to the planning industry. And 2012 has some rather exciting new projects in store for UKAWP ...

We hope you've enjoyed reading our news. With my best wishes
